Discover the stories behind artistic quilting traditions

 Community Threads logo

Extended Through March 28, 2010!

Discover the stories behind the artistic quilting traditions from the 19th century to today.  The Stowe Center is partnering with Community Health Services, Hartford Stage and other museums and venues in this city-wide arts collaboration.

Thanks to the generosity of Ed Johnetta Miller, Hartford's famed fiber artist and quilter, the Stowe Center will continue to display the Gee's Bend quilts mounted for the Community Threads project through March 28.

Don't miss these stunning examples of quilt artistry - and see the Stowe Center's historic quilts displayed in situ in the Stowe House.

The Museum Store is featuring Gee's Bend Quilt Kits - as well as fabric and items made from The American Woman's Home Collection.
