Stowe in Governor's Speech!

Harriet Beecher Stowe was everywhere on Wednesday, January 5 as Connecticut inaugurated a new Governor!  Governor Dan Malloy quoted Stowe in his address to the Connecticut General Assembly:

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”  See the full text here.

Connecticut Governor Malloy also cited Stowe as one of Connecticut’s world-class legacies in his “Inaugural Remarks Following the Oath of Office”. Read it here.
