We Need to Talk

Courageous Conversations 101

July 24, 2018

Attention libraries, community centers, museums, and historical societies:

Would you like to foster dynamic, inclusive, and courageous conversations
at your site? Some group discussions are just, well, hard,
especially when we’re talking about issues we’re passionate about.

At this hands-on, interactive workshop, you’ll gain skills to facilitate effective group discussions and manage difficult conversations that lead to action.

Workshop leaders are experienced facilitators for the Stowe Center’s award-winning Salons at Stowe, 21st-century parlor conversations about race, class and gender:

Oliver Scholes is Program Coordinator for Stowe Center Public Programs and Outreach. He is principal facilitator for the Salons discussion series, leads training on dialogic programming both at the Stowe Center and in the community, and works to cultivate conversations that generate positive action and understanding.

Aqua Drakes is Enterprise and Sales Manager for the Stowe Center, attracting new and diverse participants to the museum. In addition, she facilitates Salons at Stowe, leads after school programs, and manages library engagement.

Space is limited. Register early to guarantee your spot at this free workshop.

Thank you to anonymous donors for sponsoring the program.
