The Stowe Prize recognizes a U.S. author whose written work has made a tangible impact on a social justice issue critical to contemporary society. Named in honor of Harriet Beecher Stowe, the $10,000 award was established to commemorate the 200th anniversary of her birth in 2011.
The Student Stowe Prize, established by the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in 2012, recognizes outstanding writing by United States high school and college students that is making a tangible impact on a social justice issue
critical to contemporary society.
