Volunteer Opportunities

Garden Volunteers Needed, No Experience Necessary

Monday and Thursday Mornings, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Looking to learn more about gardening while giving back to your community?  Then consider volunteering at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center!!

The Stowe Center is a regional attraction for tourists and a community anchor in the historic Asylum Hill neighborhood.  Our garden volunteers learn about historic Nook Farm and the interesting people who lived here. The Stowe Center’s nearly three-acre campus includes numerous gardens, shrubs, and trees that need continuous care.  The grounds are open to the public free of charge, daily from dawn to dusk.

If you enjoy meeting other gardeners and getting a little exercise in the process, then consider joining us on Monday and Thursday mornings, April through October.  What you learn here can be brought to your own gardens!  Bring a friend!
